The Deadpool movies. Somehow they managed to make a funny, yet awesome movie at the same time. And the new “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie that came out recently just added to it, making an amazing trilogy. With a mix of Deadpool’s quirky jokes and comedy, and Wolverine’s serious demeanor, “Deadpool & Wolverine” ended up as a cherry on top for the Deadpool trilogy.
The plot of the movie follow’s Deadpool looking for a new “anchor being” to save his own timeline, but runs into trouble when he gets sent to the Void with Wolverine. From there, both of our protagonists have to find a way to escape before the antagonist, Cassandra Nova, can use the “Time Ripper” and completely take over the Sacred Timeline.
The Deadpool movies have always been different from other Marvel movies, and this obviously is because of Ryan Reynolds being the perfect choice for Deadpool. Everybody loves Ryan Reynolds, whether it be because of his charm, or just cause of how funny he is. Deadpool wouldn’t have been the same without Reynolds. He really brings out Deadpool’s personality down to the finest detail.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” was without a doubt a hilarious movie, however there were a few jokes that were a bit overused. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall, that’s one of his main features, but in this movie, I feel they were used a little too much. Deadpool breaking the fourth wall is a given and it’s funny when used every now and then. But when you break the fourth wall in almost every scene, it gets a little bit old.
Marvel is a superhero franchise, so of course they’re going to fight, and “Deadpool & Wolverine” has some of the funniest, but also coolest fights of all time. There were only a couple that truly stood out, and those two were the opening fight scene, and the fight with the Deadpool Core. Starting with the opening fight scene, this was personally my favorite out of them all. From Deadpool using Logan’s skeleton as a bunch of different weapons, to Deadpool’s occasional dance break, this scene was absolutely insane. The next one, the fight with the Deadpool Core, was also really epic. Seeing Deadpool fight side-by-side with Wolverine was an amazing sight, especially at the beginning when they take they’re stances.
One more thing worth mentioning is the music. The pop tunes genre chosen was perfect for this movie, with one catchy tune after another. It’s music almost everyone loves, and every song chosen fits perfectly with the scene it was used on. When Deadpool and Wolverine are attempting to stop Cassandra at the end, the music intensifies, as it should for a scene like that, and gives chills to anyone who enjoys intense scenes. Another scene I’d like to mention is the opening fight scene. Going back to the beginning, the song playing, “Bye Bye Bye,” added to the funny demeanor of the scene, and probably got stuck in tons of peoples’ heads.
In conclusion, “Deadpool & Wolverine” was a cinematic masterpiece, as are all of the Deadpool movies. My final opinion? “Deadpool & Wolverine” was the perfect ending to the trilogy.
It wouldn’t be horrible if they made a fourth one, but this movie just feels like the cherry on top of the cake…is what I’d say if I didn’t want another Deadpool movie. The Deadpool movies are always hits, since the very first one. They wouldn’t just bring Wolverine back for one movie then never do anything with him again. So it’s safe to assume that there will more than likely be a fourth movie, and fans should be perfectly fine with that.
