Madi Bobbitt is one of five seniors on Memorial’s volleyball team who will be finishing up the regular season Tuesday against Abilene Wylie.
The Memorial Messenger spoke with Bobbitt about the triumphs and growth she’s experienced while playing high school volleyball.
Q: How long have you been playing volleyball for?
A: I started playing volleyball in fourth grade.
Q: What is your favorite memory of playing volleyball throughout high school?
A: The friends I’ve made.
Q: How has the transition from playing volleyball at Rider to playing at Memorial been?
A: Amazing, so much better. I’ve really enjoyed the coaching staff. The team is just great and it’s easy to win.
Q: What keeps you motivated when playing volleyball?
A: I do it for my team.
Q: How have you grown since playing volleyball freshman year?
A: My skill set has expanded.
Q: What will you miss the most about playing high school volleyball?
A: My friends.
Q: What are your plans after high school? Do you plan on continuing to play volleyball?
A: No. I’m going to Texas A&M to study nursing.
Q: What does being a member of the first ever Maverick volleyball team mean to you?
A: It means a lot, y’know, impacting the team.
Q: If you had one word of advice for your team, what would it be?
A: Perseverance is key.
